U-bahn: Eberswalder Straße (U8) Haferkater, or the house of porridge in Berlin is, above all, a great place to get a coffee, eat a pastry or try one of their amazing porridge bowls. I only went there once. I was in the neighborhood, the place looked welcoming so I went in. The room is beautifully decorated, it is very simple, the colors are light and the tables made of wood. I sat at the big community table which was made of solid wood (the wooden planks were roughly crafted, that gave a rustic appearance to the piece of furniture in the middle of a very modern environment). Drinks and snacks are a bit expensive, but everything I tried was delicious. It is not actually that expensive, but being a student, I cannot afford to go to this kind of place very often. The front windows are all open when the weather permits it, which brings a ton of light inside. It feels like being in an bright open veranda directly on the street. I strongly recommend the place! The place where I went is in Prenzlauer Berg, but they actually have three shops in town (one is in the area of the central station - Hauptbahnhof - and the other one is in Friedrichshain). I give you here the address of Haferkater in Prenzlauer Berg. For more information, visit their website. How much? Average When? Monday - Friday: 07:00-18:00 Saturday - Sunday: 08:00-19:00 Where?
